Core Values of Hòfi Kultural

Every Friday, the social creative morning takes place at Hòfi Kultural. This is organized by the Plataforma Kultural foundation. Everyone is welcome to come and crochet, knit, draw and paint from 10 am to 12 noon.

The mornings are often crowded and there is a lot of exchange about what has been made, or what has happened on the island in the meantime. In this way, the morning has not only a creative but also a social function.

We want to use our activity center Hòfi Kultural to offer residents of Bonaire a safe place to meet, be creative and recover. Hòfi Kultural also has a number of core values that we try to live up to as best we can during all activities. Equality is an important core value. We want to be a safe place, where everyone feels welcome and equal. We respect everyone. And we assume that everyone has value. Everyone has their own strength. That own strength, that is the starting point. We appeal to people on their creativity and their own strength. We don't say: you have a problem and we're going to help you. We say: what can you do and what do you feel like doing? We start from the life experience and strength of the people themselves. Users of Hòfi Kultural share these values and ensure that other visitors also live them.

Hòfi Kultural is therefore also a safe place. This means that you can be who you are. You are not judged on what you can or cannot do. You are not judged by how you look or what you have ever done or experienced. Hòfi Kultural is a judgment-free area.

Everyone is welcome at Hòfi Kultural. We include everyone: all ages, all colors, all genders, all sexual preferences, all defects. No one is the same, everyone is equal. Here you can be different, or a bit broken. Be proud of who you are. Everyone is welcome. Inclusivity in the broadest sense of the word.

At Hòfi Kultural, people come first. We are a centre for art and culture where the social aspect is the condition for the creative aspect. People are never refused or excluded because their input would not fit the artistic concept. Being busy together precedes being artistic. Join in, we'll come up with something.
